The Post Office at Urchfont Community Shop

The Urchfont Post Office opened its doors on the very same day as the Community Shop — a shared milestone that brought essential services back into the heart of the village.

Mary joined as Sub Postmistress five years later, on 22 February 2010, and has been a friendly and familiar face ever since — continuing to serve the community with dedication and warmth.

As a Sub Post Office, the range of services is slightly more limited than a full branch, but it offers everything most people need, and does it with a personal touch that’s become part of daily life in Urchfont.

Customers can:

  • Send letters and parcels

  • Arrange parcel collections for online shopping

  • Make cash withdrawals

  • Pay in cash and cheques

The Post Office is open 23 hours a week:

Opening Hours:
Tuesday to Thursday: 9am – 5pm (closed 1–2pm for lunch)
Saturday: 10am – 12 noon

Whether you're sending a parcel, managing your banking, or just stopping by for a friendly chat, the Urchfont Post Office remains a valued part of village life
